Graphical representation of experimental design. 6 month-old female APP/PS1 and WT littermates were used. After the weaning, animals were fed either control or HFD. When animals were 5 months old, they were treated intraperitoneally (i.p.), either with saline solution or with RHE-HUP at a dose of 2.0 mg/Kg. Then, animals were subjected to two different behavioral tests: MWM and NORT. After that, GTT and ITT were performed and animals were sacrificed by cervical dislocation in order to obtain tissue samples and to perform Golgi Staining Kit, or by intracardially perfusion for immunochemistry/ThS
