The wild type animals lose cell proliferation in the regenerating region at 72 h post-amputation while the regenerating tail of the TRDKO tadpoles continue to have high levels of cell proliferation. A EdU (red) labeling of proliferating cells was carried out on sagittal sections of tail at 72 h post-amputation, counterstained with TUNEL (green) for apoptotic cells and Hoechst 3342 (blue) for DNA, respectively.
