Symptoms of acute DSS-induced colitis in WT and GHSR −/− mice. Acute colitis was induced in WT and GHSR−/− mice by drinking 2% DSS for 7 days. Body weight change (A) and DAI score (B) which consist of weight loss, diarrhoea and faecal blood was given to each group daily to monitor the disease development. On day 7, mice were sacrificed, and disease evaluations were given at macroscopic level, including spleen weights (C) and colon shortening (D). Each point or bar represents the mean ± SEM; NS: no significance, *p < 0.05, **p < 0.01, and ***p < 0.005.
