The effects of NaIO3 alone or in combination with melatonin on the proliferation of ARPE-19 cells. A ARPE-19 cells were treated with NaIO3 (0, 2.5, 5, 10, 15, and 20 mM) for 24 h; cell viability was measured by MTT assay. B ARPE-19 cells were cotreated with NaIO3 (15 mM) and melatonin at a series of concentrations (0, 0.5, 1, and 2 mM) for 24 h; cell viability was evaluated by MTT assay.
