Weight change of B6 and D2 mice following infection by a mouse-adapted SARS-CoV, MA15. B6 (n = 26) and D2 (n = 28) mice were inoculated with 105 TCID50 of MA15 virus in PBS via the intranasal route. Control mice (Mock, 4/group) received Vero-E6 culture supernatant diluted in PBS. Mice were monitored daily for weight change (expressed as % starting weight, Mean ± SEM) and a subset of infected mice (3–5/group) were sacrificed on 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 9 dpi for measuring viral titers in the lungs (see Fig. 2)
