The overexpression of Nrf2 triggers the activation of autophagy in ESCC cells. The autophagy levels of wild-type (WT) and Nrf2-overexpressed (Nrf2-OE) ESCC cells were detected by western blotting. Representative western blotting images and the quantification and statistical analysis results of phosphorylated mTOR, Beclin 1, p62 and LC3-I/II in Ec109 cells (a) and KYSE-30 cells (b) are shown. The differences in the two groups were obtained using Student’s t-test. *P < 0.05, **P < 0.01, and ***P < 0.001
