They shared 100% of amino acid identity. c Retroposition gene monal_008061. Syntenic alignments in teleost genomes show that monal_008061 emerged only in the Monopterus albus lineage. d Retroposition gene monal_008061 is an RNA-based duplicate. A transcribed RNA is reverse transcribed from the gene rus1 (monal_010276) and retroposed into a new position in the genome. Multiple exons (8 exons) was integrated into one exon in the new locus. They shared 92.8% of amino acid identity
