  1. Repair efficiency was determined as described in “Methods”. Twenty-one fmol of dI-containing DNA was incubated with 90 μg of HeLaS3 or HCT116 cell-free extracts at 37 °C for 30 min. Repair level lower than 0.3 fmol was regarded as background (–). Each data corresponds to the average and standard deviation from at least three independent measurements. Statistical analysis: * p < 0.05, ** p < 0.001, *** p < 0.001 versus Standard reaction (Student’s t-test)
